Sunday was a perfect day for the twins' first birthday party! We planned it for a Sunday evening which definitely had benefits and drawbacks! The biggest benefit was we had all weekend to prepare for the party! My sweet husband worked all day Saturday to get the yard and outside of the house ready (he even worked all day on his birthday!). I did a bit of prep Saturday night then worked all through nap time on Sunday to set up for the party. The weather was perfect! We had the party on the carport so that kids could play. Even though we did not have a huge guest list, our house is not huge and I start to feel claustrophobic with that many people in our home! I also LOVED not having to get the inside of my house spotless ;) We had such a great time with our family and a few of the twins' friends. They loooooved their cupcakes and made a sweet mess. I really loved their party…it was simple, sweet, and we got to spend time with people we love. Maddex played and had a great time and I'm sure the babies loved all of the attention! We are so blessed with precious people in our family that love us and our babies so much. This blessing is certainly NOT lost on me!
One benefit to having twins is two birthdays in one party! I enjoy prepping for birthday parties, but I'm not sure I'd want to do it three times a year! Two is just right :) But double the kids means double the toys! I did not consider how much STUFF these sweet babies would get. We opened up a few of the toys already and they (and big sis) are loving them. I plan to open a few toys at a time. I also need to go through what we have and get rid of some stuff. Three kids means LOTS of stuff coming into our home!

So I know this post is about the twin's party, but this might be one of my favorite pictures from the party! Love, love, love this picture. I am beyond blessed that my closest friends have girls exactly Maddex's age. We pray they will be best friends for life. The Lord has blessed our friendship so much with these girls and now with sweet baby boys!
